LEATHER AND HARNESSES

If we want to better understand the leather culture, we must go back to its origins first: the leather subculture was born in Los Angeles by the end of the 40s. At the time, sexuality was quite clandestine (mainly in the gay scene); however, it began to become mainstream in the mid-1960s in the San Francisco area. Yes, gentlemen: We are talking about the age of sexual and homosexual liberation associated with the hippie movement.  This revolution caused many men to develop their fetishes and sexual practices in ways that had not previously thought of.

The leather subculture is not very well known; in fact, it is a topic that is still a taboo and has been for many years. But nowadays, with social media and globalization in technology, it is becoming more well-known. The leather scene is a very important topic not only for some gay men but also for those who engage in BDSM (Bondage/Discipline, Dominance/Submission, Sado/Masochism).

We know that when talking about “leather,” we refer to ways of dressing around sexual connotations that includes accessories in such material, e.g. as pants, chaps, jackets, vests, boots, harnesses, jockstraps, and so on.

Leather garments are a sexual symbol and used as accessories that enhance and reaffirm the virility of men because of its shape, touch, design, and particular and unique aroma.

In this article, we are going to focus on the harness, an accessory capable of taking your sexiest side—regardless of whether you are conservative or fetishist—to the next level.  For many, it can become intimidating or aggressive, but wearing a harness actually accentuates masculinity.

A harness is a piece that surrounds the torso with different shapes and colors. It is often associated with gay men, but you can find that any person using it.

Nowadays, we see that harnesses are not only used as accessories for sexual practices but also a part of a look for special occasions. For example, we see them in haute couture collections, even some fashion bloggers promote them in their articles.

It is increasingly common to find someone wearing a harness simply for fashion reasons and not fetishistic ones. Don’t stay behind! It’s time to try and let your mind and body fly.
