Let’s start with some history: In ancient times, painting, sculpturing, literature (poetry), architecture, dance, and music were considered arts only.  In 1911, Riccioto Canudo* defined the cinema as a “plastic art in movement,” and  he called it the “Seventh Art.”

Movies and TV series transport us to alternate universes, confronting our emotions to different realities; for many, they are an escape to the daily routine.  For this reason, we want to bring you eight unforgettable scenes that contain a perfect mix: men and underwear.

1. What’s your number? – Actor: Chris Evans.
This 36-year-old actor knows how to be a source of inspiration and sensuality; with his blue eyes and 1.83-meter tall stature, he teaches us how to be a conqueror. In this film, Evans appears in underwear during a Basketball game; he does not forget that in several parts of the film, he is seen naked (or shirtless) playing guitar.

2. American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace. Actor: Ricky Martin
This is the second season of the crime anthology series of FX: American Crime Story, which was released in the United States on January 2018.  This series features the performances of Edgar Ramírez as the main character (Gianni Versace), Darren Criss as the serial killer Andrew Cunanan, Penelope Cruz as Donatella Versace, and Ricky Martin as Antonio D’Amico (Versacce’s partner). Although this series has caused huge controversy because it wasn’t approved by Versacce’s family, we cannot ignore the images of the Puerto Rican singer and actor in underwear—scenes that captivated us from the beginning with the trailers’ promotion, leaving one wanting to see much more.

3. Risky Business – Actor: Tom Cruise.
This 1983 American film starred by Tom Cruise is for many, the movie that brought him fame. The scene where Cruise dances in underwear—”Old Time Rock and Roll” by Bob Seger—is perhaps one of the best known of the film. This scene has had parodies in many TV shows, such as The Simpsons, ALF, Dexter’s Laboratory, The Magical Sponsors, and The Nanny.

4. The Amityville Horror – Actor: Ryan Reynolds.
This horror movie of MGM Studios filmed in 2005 and is based on the novel Horror in Amityville by Jay Anson. Starring Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, the film not only immerses us in all the strange succession of paranormal experiences of the Lutz family but also makes our imagination fly when we see this handsome actor of 1.88 meters tall running in pajamas clearly showing that it is going commando.

5. Magic Mike – Actor: Channing Tatum.
This film, released in 2015, tells the story of Mike Lane (Tatum) who performs various jobs to start his own custom furniture business, one of which is dancer of a nudist club. In the film, we also see the actors Alex Pettyfer, Cody Horn, Matt Bomer and Matthew McConaughey, and Joe Manganiello.

6. The Sex of the Angels. Actors: Álvaro Cervantes, Llorenç González.
This is a Spanish film by Xavier Villaverde, which was released in 2011. It tells the story of a love triangle between a girl and two boys who are carried away by their emotions. The final scene of the film shows us how these young people live their lives with intensity without the reservations of dancing in underwear in their apartment.

7. Chocolate City. Actor: Robert Ri’chard.
This film premiered in 2015, and it stars Robert Ri’chard. The film tells us of the troubles of a college student who changes after an amateur night at a male strip club.

Undoubtedly, the film industry will continue to surprise us, and actors and actresses will surely continue to delight us with their sculptural and enviable bodies. Remember that it is not mandatory to have Tom Cruise’s abs dancing to the rhythm of rock and roll or the body of Ryan Reynolds to look sexy in his pajamas. It’s all a matter of attitude and a good sense of humor.
